Happy summer solstice! This is the beginning of astronomical summer and this is the day with the most hours of daylight in the northern hemisphere. Here in the Twin Cities metro area, we have 15 hours and 37 minutes between sunrise and sunset today. You can search for the length of daylight at other locations at timeanddate.com.
Weekend temps and dew points
Most of Minnesota and western Wisconsin will have Saturday highs in the 70s, with a few 60s near Lake Superior. Saturday dew points will be comfortable, and winds will be light most of the time. Gusty winds can be expected near any thunderstorms that develop.
Our average Twin Cities high temp on June 21 is 81 degrees. We’ll probably reach the lower 80s Sunday afternoon. Southern and central Minnesota can expect Sunday highs in the 80s, with 70s in northern Minnesota:

Plotted values are in knots, with 14 knots equal to 16 mph. I should mention that higher gusts can be expected near any thunderstorms that develop.
Weekend rain and thunder chances
Western Minnesota and parts of southeastern Minnesota saw areas of rain Saturday morning. Many locations in Minnesota and western Wisconsin will see some rain showers at times Saturday afternoon and Saturday evening, with some embedded thunderstorms also possible.

The week ahead
Unsettled weather will continue this coming week, with a few minutes of showers and thunderstorms possible each day. The lowest rain chance appears to be on Thursday.
Twin Cities metro area highs are projected to reach the upper 70s Monday, followed by mid 70s Tuesday, upper 70s Wednesda and lower 80s Thursday and Friday.
