These Five Raiders Are Poised For a Bigger Season Than Many Expect - raidersbeat.com

tetekrefil.blogspot.com

The regular season begins for the Raiders in just three days and the outlook for a season hasn’t been this high since 2017. With so many unproven and/or new faces on the Raiders’ roster, which players might surprise this year?

Let’s look at five players that are on their way to a much better season than the masses are expecting.

DT Maurice Hurst

He was one of the highest graded defensive players on the Raiders last year (based on Pro Football Focus research) and Hurst is going to get even better under defensive line coach Rod Marinelli. Hurst has 7.5 sacks in two season, which isn’t bad, but this is going to be the year that Hurst makes a name for himself on the national level.

WR Bryan Edwards

You have until Sunday at 1:00 Eastern Time to get Edwards on your fantasy football team. Especially if you have a dynasty team, the next three days are critical. Edwards is not going to play like a rookie. There is always a learning curve for rookies, but Edwards is going to be the Raiders leading receiver right out of the gate. That’s the prediction. Do with it what you will.

FB Alec Ingold

Jon Gruden can’t help himself. He loves fullbacks and Ingold is well on his way to being the best, as well as most versatile, fullbacks in the NFL. The Raiders are going to use him in short yardage situations and he might catch another 20 passes out of the backfield. Five touchdowns feels like a worst-case scenario.

DB Amik Robertson

A hard-working defensive back with fast-twitch skills won’t be held down for long. Even better for Robertson, he has only Lamarcus Joyner standing in the way of a full-time role on defense. Joyner was a captain last year and this year he is not. The writing is on the wall, it’s just matter of how long the Raiders are going to wait to tear the band aid off.

S Erik Harris

All Harris does is blow past the expectations placed on him. This year he’s a starting safety and a team captain heading into the season opener. He was a good player last year. He’s going to be even better this year.

The Raiders surprised just about everyone on the outside when they cut Demarious Randall last week, but little birds in the bushes have been whispering that Harris was looking very good since the start of training camp. The Raiders were afforded the opportunity to not wait on Randall to get his stuff together… so they cut him and ate the cash.

And one last name that doesn’t make the list only because you already know… 2020 is going to be the year of Clelin Ferrell.

Book it now while you can.
