Letter | Too many high density projects slated for city - Santa Cruz Sentinel

tetekrefil.blogspot.com

Santa Cruz is a small community of 40,000-plus residents. Do we need the massive high-density building projects that are now slated to be built here? Have you seen what is coming at 190 West Cliff – 89 condominiums, 908 Ocean St. – 423 apartments, Front/River – 175 condos, Pacific/Front – 205 apartments, 101 Felix St. – 100 apartments, 530 Front St. – 170 condos, 119 Coral St. – 120 studio apartments, and the worst abomination: 831 Water St. – 151 apartments, to name a few! We are not against everything, But there are times when a project is not right.

Our community is the victim of misguided forced urban density. We are losing what makes Santa Cruz so unique.

— Owen Willis, Santa Cruz

The Sentinel welcomes your letters to the editor. Letters should be short, no more than 150 words. We do not accept anonymous letters. Letter-writers should include their full name as well as a street address and telephone number. We don’t publish those details in the newspaper, but need the information for verification purposes. Occasionally, we reject letters simply because we’ve had so many on the same subject. Submit your letters online at https://ift.tt/323VLsP.
