Another round of high to very high fire danger is in place for Tuesday - KVOE

tetekrefil.blogspot.com

Dry and breezy conditions will elevate the fire danger Tuesday and Tuesday night.

Winds out of the south will gust to as high as 35 mph during the daylight hours and could touch 40 mph after sunset. Relative humidity levels will peak under 35 percent and will be lower the further west you go. Coupled with a dry November so far — the only rainfall of the month was 0.40 inches on Veterans Day — and the stage is set for rapid-fire growth.

Outdoor burning wil be strongly discouraged Tuesday and possibly again Wednesday, although wind speeds will be lower and humidity levels may be slightly higher with increasing cloud cover. Outdoor burns will be banned in Emporia with afternoon wind speeds above 15 mph.

We’ll keep you updated on KVOE, KVOE.com and KVOE social media.
