Recent rainfall has allowed officials with the Douglas Forest Protective Association to reduce the fire danger level to Low and the Industrial Fire Precaution Level to I, on all 1.6 million acres within the Douglas District.
Kyle Reed of DFPA said the changes took affect Monday at 10:00 a.m.
Reed said under DFPA’s Public Use Restrictions with a fire danger rating of Low, there are no shutdown times on the mowing of dead grass, non-industrial power saw use, the cutting, grinding or welding of metal, or the use of other power-driven machinery. Backyard debris burning remains prohibited. All additional fire prevention measures listed in DFPA’s Public Use Restrictions remain in effect and unchanged.
