Storm Tracker Forecast: Cool with gusty winds & high fire danger Tuesday - Action News Now

tetekrefil.blogspot.com

Be prepared for cooler temperatures, gusty winds, and high fire danger ahead in your Tuesday forecast. The low pressure that tracked through to our north and brought showers to our region on Monday has now shifted to our northeast to start your Tuesday. This will keep our temperatures well below average and drive gusty north winds across northern California today. The potential for showers is now off to our east, and we'll be dry and sunny to mostly sunny through your Tuesday forecast. A Red Flag Warning for high fire danger has been issued for the valley and foothills from 11am through 8pm Tuesday due to gusty north winds and low humidity over dry fuels. Sustained winds out of the north to 20mph look likely, and gusts up to 40mph will be possible in the valley and foothills today. Gusts are not expected to be as strong in our mountain areas, but it's still going to be a windy day for our higher elevations. Showers have wrapped up overnight, and our skies are clearing out this morning. We'll have sunny to mostly sunny skies through your Tuesday forecast. Temperatures have dipped into the 40's to 50's in the valley and foothills overnight, and our mountain areas are starting out in the 30's to 40's this morning. High temperatures are projected to top out in the mid to upper 70's in the valley, low 60's to lower 70's in the foothills, and mid 50's to upper 60's in our mountain areas Tuesday afternoon. Humidity is projected to dip into the 14 to 22 percent range this afternoon. You'll want to make sure you're dressed for the cooler start to the day and cooler conditions for the afternoon. You'll also want to make sure to stay extra cautious as our fire danger will be very high due to the strong north winds.

High pressure will build into northern California from the Pacific for the remainder of this week, and will result in dry weather and a warming trend on the way in your forecast. Winds will still be gusty and out of the north on Wednesday, but are not expected to be as strong as Tuesday. Temperatures will start out very cool in the morning hours, but will heat up in the afternoon on Wednesday. Expect low temperatures to be similar to Tuesday. High temperatures will end up back in the mid 80's in the valley on Tuesday, while mountain and foothill areas end up in the 60's to upper 70's. Valley areas will then climb back into the upper 80's to lower 90's for the end of this work week, while foothill and mountain areas climb back into the mid 70's to lower 80's.

The warming trend will persist as we head into your weekend, and we'll stay dry. Valley areas will have high temperatures in the upper 80's to mid 90's, while foothill and mountain areas continue to have high temperatures ranging from the 70's to 80's. Low temperatures will stay on the brisk side through this weekend. Valley areas are projected to bottom out in the mid 50's, while foothills dip into the 50's to lower 60's, and mountain areas have low temperatures in the 30's. The trend of dry and warm conditions is projected to persist through the start of next week.
