TUCSON - Any fire that starts today could spread rapidly! A Red Flag Warning is in effect from 10 AM to 6 PM for parts of Southern Arizona. The wind will pick up again tomorrow as another system approaches. Expect colder temperatures, rain and snow Tuesday night into Wednesday!

It will be windy at times today with sustained wind ranging from 20 to 30 mph with gusts around 45 mph. A Red Flag Warning is in effect from 10 AM to 6 PM for all of Cochise and Santa Cruz County as well as parts of Pima, Pinal, Graham and Greenlee County. With the dry conditions in place, any fire that starts could spread rapidly. Remember one less spark, means one less wildfire! Blowing dust will also be possible.

Other than the wind, expect a sunny sky with below normal highs in the mid to upper 60s. Temperatures will drop into the 30s and 40s overnight.

The wind will pick up again tomorrow as another system approaches our state. Sustained wind between 20-30 mph with gusts around 40 MPH. Blowing dust will be a concern and fire danger will remain high.

This system will bring a chance for valley rain and mountain snow as well! The timing will be Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning and the snow level could briefly drop down to some valley floors in Cochise County, however, no accumulation is expected. Elevations above 6,000 feet could pick up 2" to 6" of snow and valleys could see trace amounts to 0.25" of rain.

Temperatures will drop into the 50s and 60s Wednesday afternoon and then we could make our first run at 90° this upcoming Sunday or Monday!

  • Today: Breezy and sunny. High: 69°
  • Tonight: Clear and cold. Low: 42°
  • Tomorrow: Increasing clouds and breezy (20%). High: 72°
