An active weather day is in store for us today with the possibility for afternoon winds and a chance for evening/overnight mountain showers/t-storms. Due to the increased fire danger as a result of the winds, a Red Flag warning has been issued for Modoc County from 1pm this afternoon to 9am Friday. So far, a Fire Weather Watch has been issued for the valley and Sierra/Cascade Mountains from 5PM today through 11PM Friday. The primary risks for fire weather are gusty winds, especially in the mountains and around the showers/thunderstorms, also, a chance for dry lightning.
